Executive Committee (EC) Overview

The Executive Committee is comprised of the Chief Executive Officers of the Member organizations who work together to provide direction of the KHC activities through strategic planning to ensure alignment with the KHC’s mission and vision. The Executive Committee also involves pertinent senior staff from each Member organizations.

CFO COMMITTEE OVERVIEW

The CFO Committee of the KHC is comprised of the Chief Financial Officers and Finance Executives from the Member organizations of the KHC.

This committee provides strategic direction to activities of the KHC in the areas of: market research, best financial practices, industry issues, financial services, contracting efficiencies, opportunities for aggregation, and the development of finance-oriented strategies and cost savings initiatives.

Cost Savings Advisory Committee (CSAC) Overview

The Cost Savings Advisory Committee (CSAC) of the KHC is comprised of Supply Chain Executives and Directors of Procurement and Materials Management from each of the Member organizations. This committee provides strategic direction to the initiatives and activities of the KHC in the areas of: Physician Preference Items (PPI), healthcare and clinical commodities, purchased services, capital equipment needs, contracting efficiencies, and opportunities for aggregation and economies of scale.

Under the direction of the Cost Savings Advisory Committee, KHC staff complete cost savings initiative activities including: market research, vendor vetting, opportunity identification, competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), as well as contract development, implementation, and evaluation.

All KHC initiatives are “Opt-In” such that each Member organization elects to participate (or not participate) in a given initiative based on its organizational needs and requirements at the time of the initiative. KHC initiatives are organized and executed by KHC staff at the direction of Members that are participants of the specific initiative.

ADVOCACY COMMITTEE OVERVIEW

The objectives of the Advocacy Committee and its policy initiatives are to amplify Member’s existing advocacy efforts and assist the KHC in driving current and future areas of focus. Input from the KHC Executive Committee and KHC working Committees, identify opportunities to promote policies that improve the health and wellbeing of Kentuckians, the KHC Member organizations, and the communities they serve.

The KHC does not have an independent or freestanding advocacy arm independent of KHC Members or their partners, nor does the KHC pursue independent lobbying efforts independent of the Members and their directives. Under the direction of the Advocacy Committee, KHC staff complete initiative activities including: research, position development, key talking point creation, and other forms of communication.

QUALITY COMMITTEE OVERVIEW

The objectives of the Quality Committees and their initiatives are to promote collaborative and individual programs that improve the performance of KHC Member organizations and the health of Kentuckians, especially in areas where Kentucky has lower ranking health outcomes and statistics. Quality Committees include:
